Shaping Egyptian drama one frame at a time
About
Yasmine Ahmed Kamel is an Egyptian film and television director who graduated from Misr International University's Faculty of Mass Communication in 2008. She spent a decade honing her craft as an assistant director before stepping behind the camera on her own terms in 2019.
Her work is defined by a commitment to humanizing underrepresented perspectives in Egyptian and Arab world cinema — most recently championing the overlooked emotional world of fathers in Egyptian family law. She both writes and directs, giving her a rare unified creative voice.
Her Ramadan 2024 series A'la Nesbet Moshahda became one of the season's most-watched dramas. Her Ramadan 2026 work Ab Wa Laken — which she wrote and directed — sparked parliamentary debate about Egypt's child visitation laws.

The Journey
"Egyptian drama has long overlooked the world of men — their pain, their silence, their invisible struggles. I felt compelled to give that story a voice."
